What is 192.168.100.1?
192.168.100.1 is commonly the admin or status page of a cable modem or fibre ONT. Open http://192.168.100.1 from a device connected to it to see line status and signal levels. If you have a separate Wi-Fi router, Wi-Fi settings are on the router's own address, not here.
Many cable modems use it for their status page, and it's the default on a number of GPON fibre ONTs (for example several Huawei EchoLife models). In Pakistan it often appears on the fibre unit an ISP installs. As always, the model's label is the authority.

With the usual home-network mask of 255.255.255.0, a router at 192.168.100.1 manages this range:

- Connect to the router by Wi-Fi or cable. Mobile data won't work.
- Confirm the router's address: it should match the default gateway in your network settings (how to check).

- After logging in, change the admin password if it's still the one on the label.

Modem or ONT, not the Wi-Fi router
With a single ISP box that does everything, 192.168.100.1 may be its only admin page. But when your own router is plugged into the ISP unit, you have two admin pages: the router's (your default gateway) and the modem/ONT's at 192.168.100.1.
If the ONT is in bridge mode, your devices get addresses from your router, not the ONT, and 192.168.100.1 may not be reachable. Connect a computer directly to the ONT's LAN port with a fixed address in the same range (for example 192.168.100.2, mask 255.255.255.0) to reach it. See modem vs router for how the two roles differ.
Reading the fibre signal level
A fibre ONT's status page usually shows optical receive power (Rx) in dBm. It's the single most useful number when fibre internet drops. Values are negative, and closer to zero means a stronger signal:

Exact thresholds depend on the equipment class. Note the value when you report a fault; it helps the ISP send the right technician.
Why most settings are locked
ISPs usually give customers a limited account on the ONT and keep the full admin account for themselves, because the ONT holds settings like the VLAN and PPPoE login that keep your service working. Changing them can take your connection offline. Don't try to guess the ISP's account; ask the ISP to change bridge mode or other settings you need.
If 192.168.100.1 doesn't open
- Wrong address. Check your default gateway; your router may use another address.
- Not connected to that router. Turn off mobile data and VPN apps, and connect to its Wi-Fi or cable.
- Browser upgraded to HTTPS. Type
http://explicitly, or try another browser. - Router frozen. Restart it: unplug for 30 seconds, wait 2 minutes.

Questions
What is the username and password for 192.168.100.1?
There isn't one universal password. Most routers print their admin username and password on a label on the bottom or back, and many newer and ISP-supplied units have a unique password per device. If the password was changed and nobody knows it, a factory reset restores the label's details. Lists of "default passwords" online are often wrong for your exact model.
Why can I open 192.168.100.1 even though my router is 192.168.1.1?
Many modems answer on 192.168.100.1 regardless of your router's range, and routers pass that traffic through. You're reaching the modem, not the router.
Can I change my Wi-Fi password at 192.168.100.1?
Only if the ISP unit is also your Wi-Fi router. If you have a separate router, change Wi-Fi settings on the router's own address.
What does a red LOS light on my fibre box mean?
Loss of signal: no light is reaching the ONT. It's a line fault, not a settings problem. Check that the green fibre connector is firmly seated without bending the cable, then contact your ISP.
